NaPoWriMo 26: Not Numb

You'd think after years of abuse the pain would be numbed.
That the washing of clothes and the sweeping of floors would be accepted as normal.
That their taunts and overall bratty disposition would become bearable.
But alas, it hasn't.
If anything, it's become much more difficult.

The invitation was unexpected.
I should've seen the betrayal coming.
All my dreams were ripped to shreds before my very eyes.
And they laughed as if it were a scene from a comedy.
If only I had the courage to rise above them.
